CHAMBLIN MONDAY COMMENTS

The Saskatchewan Roughriders held a rundown Monday in Gatineau, PQ following Saturday’s 38-14 win over the Ottawa RedBlacks.  Here’s what head coach Corey Chamblin said afterwards:

WHAT DID YOU ACCOMPLISH ON MONDAY?:

CC: We were able to go through some of the corrections and we were able install game plans for the Winnipeg game.  That was the biggest part – just transitioning from one game to the next.

DID YOU LAY OFF IN THE SECOND HALF AGAINST OTTAWA?

CC: No they laid off in the second half.  I still laid into them.  I understand it’s football but we gotta finish every game that we play.   If that game’s any closer, or things happen, we don’t want to get into the habit of letting people come back.  So we can’t lay off.  We have to stay on the pedal.

HOW’S THE INJURY SITUATION?:

CC: You know what?  It ended up better than we thought.  During the game you thought everybody was dead and we lost them but when I talked to Ivan it looks like everyone is up and ready to go.  We’ll know better Tuesday when we have an actual practice.

SO WINNIPEG’S NEXT:

CC: That’s a test.  Not only are they the best team in the CFL right now but we catch them on a short week so that’s a double test.  That’s what I told the guys – ‘You get this game and the dominoes will fall right where you want them to’.  Right now we’re where every team strives to be and we just gotta try to beat ’em.

Remember when Roy Shivers used to recruit players that never got in trouble.

Some people still think Shivers was the greatest thing since sliced bread. He works for BC and where are they? LAST FRIGGIN PLACE! Give up, he's a know it all jerk!

The Riders new special edition jersey comes out in a couple weeks. After the beeking Ottawa gave anything Roughriders, I hope they come out in the old Ottawa Rough Riders uniform and use the name Rough Riders during that whole week

Roy Shivers has more football knowledge in his little finger than most of us combined. Maybe you would have a chip on your shoulder also if you had to endure the things he had to earlier in his life. Like him or not he made this team a lot better and Tillman and Austin walked into a pretty good gig.
