CHICAGO BEARS SIGN CHRIS WILLIAMS

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Chicago Bears say they have signed receiver Chris Williams from the New Orleans Saints practice squad.

Williams entered the NFL in 2009 as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins out of New Mexico State. He then headed north to the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats where he was the league’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2012.

Williams spent the past 12 weeks on the Saints’ practice squad. Williams has also played on the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad.

The Bears also announced on Thursday they have waived defensive tackle Christian Tupou.

This will probably subside any interest the Bears may have had in Dressler

This also proves to the CFL fans comments towards Chris Williams for not commiting to his Hamilton TigerCats contract. That his holdout did not hurt him in anyway. If anything the contract accepted by an Agent that was not licensed should never have been approved in the 1st place. As well contract are 2 with an option. So if anything Chris Williams was the one that was missinformed, missrepresented and taken advantage of.
Im glad Chris is on his way to bigger and better things.
