CHRIS JONES STAYING IN CLEVELAND

3DownNation’s Justin Dunk is reporting Chris Jones will remain with the Cleveland Browns in 2020.

Dunk wrote Thursday afternoon that new Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski informed Jones this week that he’ll be retained despite last month’s firing of first-year coach Freddie Kitchens.

Jones left the CFL a year ago to be a Sr. Defensive Assistant on Kitchens’ staff. The pair had an association dating back to the late 1990’s when they were together on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

NFL Network reported Stefanski and Jones met last Friday to discuss 2020.

Dunk originally reported on the RP Show during CFL winter meetings earlier this month that the odds were good that Jones would remain with the Browns.

Good for Jones. Quite likely got his foot in the door down south for a long time.

Not likely.. it won’t take long for Mr. Jones to show his true colors and wear out his welcome.

Glad he is staying in Cleveland, and not coming back here. The most over-rated coach, GM or whatever since the days of Don Matthews.

I suppose it’s easy to speak ill of the dead since they aren’t around to defend themselves. But with 5 Coach of the Year titles, 5 Grey Cup rings, and 231 victories, sometimes the facts alone speak for themselves. And what they’re saying is this: go home man, you’re drunk.
