Commentary: All That Matters
(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)
Hey it’s the day we do random thoughts on this commentary! Today we’ve got several…
#1 – It’s an historic day in Saskatchewan. You may wanna write it down; May 15.
The Moose Jaw Warriors are one win away from winning their first ever WHL championship and that win could come tonight over Portland in the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
It would also mean a sweep, which is pretty rare in the Dub Final.
For the hockey community of Sask, this is monumental. The Warriors and the Blades are the only Sask teams to not win the WHL title.
But it doesn’t seem like we’ll be waiting long now.
#2 – If you’re following the Centennial Cup in Oakville, ON, the SJHL champion Melfort Mustangs are having quite a week and will be into the playoffs this weekend.
HockeyCanada.ca is the best place to follow, and the Final will be on TSN.
#3 – I’m sure you’re embroiled in the highly-entertaining Oilers-Canucks NHL series which is tied 2-2, but we’ve got a dandy here in Florida between the Panthers & Bruins.
The officials, errrrr hockey gods, evened things up in Game 5 last night – a Bruins win – sending it back to Boston Friday night.
This one seems to be a lonnnnnnng ways from being over!
And #4 – Yessssssss I’m following the goings-on of the CFL and training camps across the land. Commissioner Randy Ambrosie certainly has his hands full with suspended players Chad Kelly and Shawn Lemon, which have been the top stories in the league till now.
But thank God the games will start soon, like the Riders and Bombers on Monday, because the games are all that matter.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary
