It’s Random Thoughts Wednesday on the Commentary! Here we go:

#1 – Now we wait. Toronto Argonauts quarterback Chad Kelly apologized on Tuesday for his role in a sexual harassment case with the team and is now returns from suspension to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders Thursday at BMO Field.

Chad Kelly’s never lost to the Riders in two starts. I expect him to go 3-0.

#2 – The biggest story in the NFL this week seems to be a war of words between Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and his former coach Brian Flores, now a coordinator with Minnesota.

Tua called Flores a “terrible person”, and that he likes his current coach Mike McDaniel’s approach far better.

Flores told the media on Tuesday that he was “hurt” by Tua’s claims.

Is this pro football or elementary school?

It’s definitely a sign of the times.

#3 – Okotoks Dawgs GM Tyler Hollick joined the RP Show this week to discuss his team’s WCBL championship and dramatic series-clinching win over the Moose Jaw Miller Express on Saturday night.

Hollick said the Millers were the “best-coached” team they faced all year. That’s quite a bouqet for Moose Jaw skipper Eric Marriott, and well-deserved.

I love that guy, and you’ll be hearing from him again down the line.

And #4 – Either the oddsmakers haven’t kept up with the news, or they think the Oilers decision this week to allow Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway to flee to St. Louis won’t affect the team’s fortunes much this season.

According to the sportsbooks, the Oilers are still a Top 5 team in the favourites list to win the Stanley Cup and a Finals rematch between Edmonton and Florida is the most-likely series.

Sign me up for that! They’re buzzing about hockey in Florida already and my first NHL column in the South Florida Tribune was published today.

Don’t it feel good!

That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.
