Commentary: Get Used To It

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)
It’s Wednesday and time for some Random Thoughts:
#1 – The Blue Jays failed to complete the sweep of the Yankees, losing Game 3 of the ALDS by a sloppy 9-6 score on Tuesday and will try again to close it out tonight with a Game 4 victory at Yankee Stadium.
We said here yesterday the Yankees have too much pride to go quietly, the ghosts of Yankee Stadium helped Aaron Judge’s clutch game-tying home run stay fair, and the captain himself drove in four runs and scored three himself.
It ain’t over till it’s over, but Toronto is still in the driver’s seat.
#2 – Frankly I was glad the theatrics of the game overshadowed the ugliness of Yankee fans booing the Canadian flag and national anthem before the game.
I was sitting with a bunch of Americans in the press box at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise and they were ashamed. “That’s New Yorkers for ya,” they said.
We’ll see if there’s any fallout today.
#3 – Those same reporters got a bang out of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones being fined $250,000 for giving Jets fans the finger on Sunday, while the Tampa Bay Lightning – as a team – were fined $100,000 for their goonery here on Saturday night against the Panthers. They felt it was a little lopsided.
For any Dallas Cowboys fans out there, this is our leader.
#4 – The Chicago Blackhawks lost. This is a recording.
On opening night in the NHL, the Florida Panthers raised a second consecutive Stanley Cup banner and then went on to beat Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks 3-2. The former Regina Pat was held scoreless but he hit the crossbar on Sergei Bobrovsky a minute into the game. Had he scored, I’m certain the game would’ve gone another way.
I saw Connor briefly after the game. It’s hard to tell how he was feeling because he never cracks a smile, but he certainly wasn’t smiling after the first of many Chicago losses to come this season.
I’d suggest … get used to it.

Hawks better start looking for a trade partner, because he isn’t signing another contract with them.
