COMMENTARY – SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE
(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on Cat Country 98, Rock 98.5 & LTD Radio)
Wednesdays are for random thoughts on this Commentary and as always, we’ve got a few …
#1 – Still trying to get my mind around the homerun swat by the CFL and the Hamilton Grey Cup organizing committee that music sensation Carrie Underwood will perform at this year’s Grey Cup.
Now don’t be fooled – – the award-winning artist will be performing at a Friday night concert event in Hamilton, not during halftime of the game.
But no matter … this is huge and will put this Grey Cup on the map!
#2 – Not sure who needs to hear this but here it is: If you change out the players on your team but the problem remains, the problem was never the players.
It seems people are now just waking up to this concept.
#3 – Without question, I’m a slow learner. I had my Jeep in at the shop again this week and it was getting to be a frustrating problem.
But the mechanic Mike – who’s getting to know “Goldie” like he’s a member of his own family – asked if I’d left the vehicle topless and uncovered during the flash flood Monday night. Yes, I had.
“I get that it’s a Jeep,” Mike offered. “But it’s not a submarine. Cover it up when you’re not driving it.”
Who knew the weather conditions were so harsh in Florida?
And #4 – The roller coaster is now boarding.
NHL training camps are over, the preseason is now on, and before long the games will count for real. The fans are already wrought with anxiety and gushing over every little thing. That’s what makes them fans!
But I’m not buying it, nor will I get sucked in.
Slow and steady wins the race, and I’ll expend my energy come playoff time.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary

Honest opinion, pity a antique vehicle with all that moist salty air, humidity can’t be good long term on anything left exposed. In other news, Troy Aikman, Aaron Rodgers compare Miami Dolphins offense to those found in the CFL pre snap.
He is not terminally unique in that comment. – Warren Moon said it for years, and brought those ideas to Brian Billick with the 1998 Minnesota Vikings – they went 15-1. Dieter Brock was the same deal yet Dan Fouts his back up got credit for it being high flying, Doug Flutie is a given. Sean Payton who had a lickin put on him – he was in the CFL and Troy Aikman’s backup was Jason Garrett who was Damon Allen’s backup in Ottawa. Football is football, and schemes and ideas come from all over. The reason Andy Reid has… Read more »
