COMMENTARY: THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

A coupla three or so thoughts entering the weekend …

#1 – This is our last commentary before Sunday’s 110th Grey Cup. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers opened as 7.5-point favourites at our official betting partner Bet Regal. It has now has swelled to 8.5-points. I’ll take the Bombers to win by six or less. They’re the better team but Montreal has “Old Mo” on their side, winners of seven in a row.

#2 – We discussed this with Alouettes reporter Joey Alfieri on Thursday’s RP Show – after Cody Fajardo’s bitter exit from Riderville last year, I told him he’d emerge much stronger having gone through it. But I didn’t think he’d do it this fast! Turns out he wasn’t that broken by it; he simply wasn’t that attached. (It’s not like he’d made his home in Sask for a half century). I’m picking Winnipeg, but cheering for Montreal.

#3 – Toronto quarterback Chad Kelly was named league MVP Thursday night but will be remembered for his bitter exit after losing last week’s East Division Final, and not shaking hands with the winners. Now he’s blamed it on a concussion, which no one believes.

But I’m still pulling for his comeback story. A football guy in Mississippi told me this week Kelly is a “spoiled brat and a jerk”. Hey – I was a spoiled brat and a jerk at one time too, but I’ve changed into a completely different person. Because of that, I’ll never lose faith in anyone who wants to change.

Chad just hasn’t realized yet that to whom much is given, much is expected. He still thinks he’s responsible for his talents! I just can’t be too hard on him, because I’ve been there. He’s lost and confused, like I was.

#4 – After two years of trying, I finally figured it out! Instead of trying to amalgamate Florida viewers with The RP Show, we split off with the Cats ‘N Bolts podcast, covering Florida NHL hockey. It’s actually got far more streaming viewers than the RP Show! I’ve gotta think it’s a population thing. But as far as our daily TV show goes, we’ve refocused on Canadian sports like the CFL, Canadian NHL teams, junior hockey, curling and the like. Ratings are up there too!

As Hannah Montana sings, it’s the best of both worlds.

And #5 – Be sure to enjoy Grey Cup weekend for all that is because once the confetti gun goes off Sunday night in Hamilton, that’s it for CFL football for six months.

Y’er welcome.

That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary

(The Rod Pedersen Show airs daily at 12 pm & 5 pm ET on Game+TV, WQEE Radio, Podcast & YouTube Live)

The gift to begin again…..and write new chapters.

What a gift it is.

Montreal will win this game.
It is the way it is to be.

Joseph was a spoiled brat. He got tossed in a well and sold into slavery… he ended up saving those who did that to him years later. He said it was all meant to be.

We collide through this world with the hope to learn one thing….empathy.

News flash to the woke mob- times have always been hard. You can’t avoid pain and through pain comes growth.

Cody Fajardo not attached? Wonder why his child was born in Regina Saskatchewan when he could have been born anywhere United States of America. Cody Fajardo was gullible and naive to think he would be of all places with the Saskatchewan Roughriders forever.

Why? The same as the rest of them do. “We” paid for it. Where in America he would have had a bill waiting for him. Then they dart back over the border to talk about how free they are and all the opportunities.

Our country_ 🇨🇦.
Old Canadiana will be on the outside. I don’t like the oversaturated influx and influences currently happening to my home and native land_ 🇨🇦.
