Commentary: The Good, The Great & The Ugly

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)
It’s Tuesday and time for the Good, the Great & the Ugly!
First the good: As always, it’s a matter of perspective but if you’re a fan of the Florida Panthers, things are pretty good today. The Cats manhandled the Edmonton Oilers 6-1 in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night in Sunrise. With that, Florida’s up 2-1 in the series with Game 4 on Thursday.
As Sportsnet’s Kelly Hrudey – my personal goaltending idol – said after the game, Edmonton has no chance of winning Game 4 if they play like that.
Two more wins.
Next the great: How’s the saying go? “The rich get richer”? The Saskatchewan Roughriders made waves across the CFL on Monday when they signed free agent running back Ka’Deem Carey.
Carey was inexplicably on the street after being among the final cuts of the Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts.
It fills a need for the Riders, who lost #1 running back A.J. Ouellette to injury in Week 1. The people who say Ouellette has been a bust since signing in Sask last year aren’t wrong.
But that’s not the Riders fault.
And lastly, the ugly: I don’t need anybody to make it make sense.
On Monday I mentioned how tennis and golf haven’t grabbed my interest as summer sports but I forgot to mention soccer.
World Cup qualifying is going on at the moment and to me, all it’s doing is taking up space with their highlights on Sportscentre. Our viewers asked my thoughts on it on Monday’s TV show and here they are:
Canada’s coaches being punted for a widespread cheating operation was enough for me.
The sport was hanging by a thread in my purview as it was.
Sorry/Not sorry. I’m more than happy focusing on NHL, CFL & NFL with the RP Show, and broadcasting baseball.
That feels like more than enough to keep a guy busy.

What radio station broadcasts the Miller express games?

Sure be nice if a local station would pick it up. Country 100 or CHAB maybe. I wonder if anyone has ever approached them. Listening to football and baseball is the best way to put in the hours during seeding and harvest.
That’s above my paygrade!
aj ouelette sure came to his injured senses quickly upon learning the Roughriders had signed Super Sensational Rb Ka’Deem Carey. ouelette was back at practice pronto the day after Monday when Carey was taking first team reps. Rider gm o’day needs to admit to another one of his mistakes and cut ouelette immediately as he’s been nothing but a major bust in Sask.
