Commentary: The Times We Live For

A coupla three or more thoughts entering the weekend ..

#1 – These are the kinds of times we live for, so slow down and enjoy every single moment!

The betting experts had it right, wayyyy back in the Fall; it will be a rematch of last year’s Stanley Cup Final, Edmonton vs Florida beginning Wednesday in Alberta.

No … I won’t be there due to my commitments as broadcaster for the Moose Jaw Miller Express baseball team and this is where I wanna be.

But I’ve got a team on our Florida NHL coverage and they’ll do a great job!

And I’m not making a prediction on this series … yet.

#2 – As the great Roger Aldag famously says: in Saskatchewan there are two seasons: winter and Rider season.

The latter officially opens tonight with the first of 10 home games for the Green & White as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers come to town.

#3 – It’s the home opener for the Western Canadian Baseball League’s Moose Jaw Miller Express tonight as we welcome the Saskatoon Berries to Ross Wells Park at 7:05.

We’ll raise the 2024 East Division championship banner and then it’s a battle of two of the top-ranked teams in the WCBL! The Berries are #2 in the Power Rankings while the Millers are #4.

If you can’t make tonight’s game, come on out on Saturday as we welcome the Weyburn Beavers.

Like I said … these are the times we wait all year for so now that they’re here, don’t waste ‘em.
