Commentary: The Year Of The Comeback
(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)
It’s Random Thoughts Day on this Commentary! Here we go:
#1 – Donald Trump is once again President of the United States after a victory in Tuesday’s U.S. election. Depending on which coverage you follow, they’re calling it either convincing or improbable, but they’re all calling it remarkable.
Who doesn’t love a comeback story?
#2 – For me, I was watching it closely for personal reasons. Over a year ago, my Immigration Lawyer here in Florida very clearly said, “No matter where you fall on Trump or Biden, you should be very glad that Joe Biden is President right now because he’s letting everybody in!”
And I got in, just in time.
Very grateful.
#3 – It was kind of hard to believe there was anything else going on Tuesday evening besides the election. But there was.
It was a quite busy night in the NHL which included the Flames winning at Montreal, and the Winnipeg Jets winning again, beating Utah.
Could this be the year the Jets finally win the Stanley Cup?
They’ve got as good, or better, of a chance than anyone!
#4 – You’ve heard of the Year of the Rat, or the Year of the Tiger? 11 months ago 2024 was listed as the Year of the Comeback.
Take a minute and reflect on the events of the past 11 months and tell me if you agree that that’s been the case.
#5 – Also, please take a minute and tell me if the College Football hype is spilling over into Canada? The first CFP rankings came out on Tuesday evening and believe it or not, on NFL Trade Deadline Day, it was the rankings that led off Sportscenter.
There was a time that would’ve surprised me, but not anymore.
However colour me Canadian, or just a proud CFL alum.
All I care about right now are this weekend’s Division Finals and then the Grey Cup.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.

Cream rises to the top. This is what happened in Saskatchewan. It was a roundly rejected mandate to not go by left wing mainstream media. The Trans movement is a false movement. It is the end of the 4th Obama mandate. It is also the end of left wing woke politics. He basically took their lunch money and grabbed Kamala Harris by the (blank) This was also a… Read more »
