It’s Wednesday and Random Thoughts day on this commentary. Here we go:

#1 – For as long as we roam the earth, any of us who was alive on September 11, 2001 will remember where we were when we heard the news, and will stop and reflect.

2,996 people lost their lives in terrorist attacks on the U.S. that day, and it changed our world forever.

Today marks 23 years since it happened, and on this day we will always remember.

#2 – Dominating sports news is the Tyreek Hill arrest from Sunday morning. By now you know the NFL’s top receiver was arrested for being uncooperative during a traffic stop on his way to the game.

While the Dolphins released a statement supporting Hill and admonishing Miami-Dade Police on Tuesday – I was somewhat disappointed by that – there were pundits, like Charles Barkley, who agree with me.

Could Hill have avoided the situation entirely if he’d have been wiser? Sure. Absolutely.

Not too sure today how Hill gets a pass. And now he wants the arresting officer fired!

#3 – A lot of the TV and radio networks did their best to avoid coverage of Hill on Tuesday. For awhile I wondered why, but then I was tipped off that the NFL doesn’t want this talked about and would prefer the focus be elsewhere.

Ohhhh … now I get it. And here’s more evidence of how the media business has changed.

But I don’t care how big the NFL is. They can’t control the narrative 100% of the time and clearly, they can’t control Tyreek Hill.

And #4 – NHL training camps open this week and rookie tournaments go this weekend for most teams. I’ve got my eye on it all, including the WHL where I see the Regina Pats are 2-0 in exhibition games. It would seem, at this point, that they’re having no problem scoring goals.

That’s a real good place to start.

That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.

I was heading to Regina from Gray, SK – then I realized. Well if Osama Bin Laden is such a bad guy why do I recall him shaking hands with Don Rumsfeld? – He was the guy that defeated the Soviet Union when they invaded Afghanistan and was backed by the USA in the middle east – under Bill Clinton’s watch. Bill Clinton endorses Kamala Harris as does Taylor Swift Trump in 2024. Second Point: Tyrik Hill – sorry, time’s up with the woke garbage. When they say – you do, and as a cop looking at a tinted window… Read more »
