COORS LIGHT RECAP: BLADES TOP PATS 2-1 IN SHOOTOUT

SASKATOON – The Regina Pats dropped a 2-1 shootout decision to the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday afternoon at the SaskTel Centre.

The Blades opened the scoring with a powerplay goal from Logan Christensen, 6:12 into the first and it was 1-0 after 1.

The game stayed 1-0 until early in the third when Matt Bradley hammered home his 33rd from the slot on the powerplay to tie the game for the Pats.

The goaltenders clamped it down from there and the game went to a shootout.

It took seven rounds for the extra point to be decided and Michael Farren picked up the winner for the Blades who took the 2-1 victory.

Regina outshot Saskatoon 39-29, the powerplay was one for four and the penalty kill went four for five.

Max Paddock made 28 saves on 29 shots for the Pats to bring his personal record to 9-5-1-1 on the season.

Nolan Maier was named the game’s #1 star as the Saskatoon netminder turned aside 38 shots in 65 minutes of action.
