SWIFT CURRENT – The Regina Pats dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to the Broncos in Swift Current on Saturday afternoon.
Regina got the game’s first goal with the powerplay when Libor Hajek slapped home his 10th of the season and it was 1-0 after 20 minutes.
Swift Current drew even on a Glenn Gawdin tip and the game was tied heading to the third.
In the final frame, Gawdin scored his second of the night to make it 2-1 and then the Broncos added an empty netter for a 3-1 victory.
The Pats were outshot 44-23, the powerplay was 1/4 and the penalty kill was 4/5
Ryan Kubic made 41 saves in the Regina goal while Stuart Skinner had 22 saves for Swift Current.
