COORS LIGHT RECAP: BRONCOS DOWN PATS 4-2

SWIFT CURRENT – The Regina Pats gave up two goals in the final five minutes and fell 4-2 in Swift Current to the Broncos on Saturday night.

Swift got off to a good start with two goals in the opening 12 minutes to lead 2-0 after the opening frame.

The Pats turned it around in the second when Bryan Lockner tipped home his sixth of the season to cut the lead in half. Then late in the period, Nick Henry jammed in his seventh and it was a 2-2 game after 40 minutes.

It stayed that way until the Broncos took the lead back with just under 5 minutes left off the stick of Matteo Gennaro. The Broncos added another late for the 4-2 victory.

Regina outshot Swift Current 35-28, the powerplay was one for four, the penalty kill two for two and Jacob Wassermann and Tyler Brown combined to make 24 saves.

– Jacob Wassermann made 15 saves on 17 shots in his WHL debut.
– Austin Pratt played in his first game with Regina after being acquired from Red Deer.
– Bryan Lockner returned to the lineup after missing the previous three with an upper-body injury.
