REGINA – The Pats’ woes continued Saturday night. The return of defenceman Josh Mahura from Canada’s World Junior tryout camp meant little as the Queen City Kids succumbed 6-2 to the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes, extending their losing streak to three games.

The teams traded goals in the first period – including Robbie Holmes’ 7th of the season for Regina – and it was 1-1 after one.

The Hurricanes broke loose for four second period goals to up their lead to 5-1 after 40 minutes. Starting Pats goalie was lifted at the point, turning in a 23-save performance on 28 shots.

Each team scored in the third – including Matt Bradley’s 21st of the season – and the ‘Canes skated off with the lopsided victory. Back-up goalie Max Paddock stopped 8 of 9 shots in relief of Brown.

Regina was outshot 37-35 while going 0/4 on the powerplay and 3/7 on the penalty kill.

The Pats went 1-3-1 on their five-game homestand.

The attendance was 6171 in the Brandt Centre.

The Pats (16-16-3) conclude a 3-game weekend Sunday in Saskatoon in a 4:00 pm faceoff on Access TV and 620 CKRM.
