COORS LIGHT RECAP: PATS DROP WHEAT KINGS 5-2

BRANDON, MB – The Regina Pats won a third consecutive game, 5-2 in Brandon over the Wheat Kings on Tuesday night.

The Wheat Kings opened the scoring 2:52 into the first but Jesse Gabrielle replied with a powerplay goal for his 8th and it was 1-1 after 1.

In the second, Gabrielle would pot his second of the game, ninth of the season and Regina took their first lead. The Pats got it to 3-1 when Jared Legien scored on a partial breakaway for his 19th and that was the score heading to the third.

In the final frame, Luka BuRzan scored on a Brandon powerplay to cut the Pats lead to 3-2.

However, Regina responded with a powerplay goal of their own from Cameorn Hebig, his 37th and the two goal lead was restored. Hebig added an empty netter late for his 38th and the Pats took the two points in a 5-2 final.

Sam Steel and Cameron Hebig led the offence with three point nights while Jesse Gabrielle and Jared Legien chipped in with two points each and Max Paddock made 22 saves.

The Pats outshot Brandon 51-24, the powerplay was two for three and the penalty kill was three for four.
