COORS LIGHT RECAP: PATS FALL 5-1 IN BRANDON

BRANDON – The Regina Pats were dealt a 5-1 road loss on Friday night in Brandon against the Wheat Kings.

Brandon opened the scoring 6:02 into the first on a breakaway goal from Ben McCartney.

Regina got it back on the powerplay, as Ty Kolle banged home a rebound for his first in a Pats uniform and eighth of the year to tie the game 1-1. The Wheat Kings got the lead back less than a minute later and took the 2-1 advantage to the intermission.

In the second, Brandon got a powerplay goal from Luka Burzan and an even strength marker from Cole Reinhardt to lead 4-1 after 40 minutes.

In the third, the Wheat Kings scored the lone goal with 4:51 left and took the two points in a 5-1 final.

The Pats outshot the Wheat Kings 30-29, the powerplay was one for six and the penalty kill six for seven. Ty Kolle and Jadon Joseph each picked up points in their Pats debuts and Max paddock made 24 saves.
