COORS LIGHT RECAP: PATS SWEEP WHEAT KINGS!

REGINA – The Regina Pats won a second straight game, 3-2 over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday night at the Brandt Centre.
The Pats opened the scoring 12 minutes into the first, Garrett Wright put home a rebound for his second of the year and it was 1-0 after one.
In the second, Austin Pratt scored his team leading 14th from the right circle to double the Pats lead to 2-0. Brandon got one back later in the period and Regina led 2-1 after 40 minutes.
The third period saw Regina go back ahead by two when Logan Nijhoff scored on a breakaway for his second and it was 3-1 with eight minutes left. Brandon’s Luka Burzan cut the lead in half with just under three minutes left but the Pats held on for the 3-2 victory.
The Pats outshot the Wheat Kings 38-20. The powerplay was 0/4 while the penalty kill went 2/2. Max Paddock made 18 saves. Duncan Pierce led the Pats with nine shots on goal and an assist in the win.
