CORNISH BACK, TATE TO START
CALGARY (CP) – The Calgary Stampeders will have star running back Jon Cornish back when they face the B.C. Lions on Saturday.
Stampeders coach and general manager John Hufnagel confirmed Tuesday that Cornish will be in the lineup.
Cornish, quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell receiver Marquay McDaniel and rush end Charleston Hughes were all hurt in Calgary’s win over Toronto two weeks ago and missed the Stampeders’ 31-15 loss to Montreal on Sunday.
Cornish also missed six games in July and August with concussion-like symptoms. He has 587 rushing yards in five games this season.
Hufnagel said Drew Tate will get his second straight start in place of Mitchell. He said Mitchell may dress as third-stringer but not expected to play.
