Czechia Ousts Canada In World Juniors Quarterfinal

OTTAWA – Canada has crashed out the world junior hockey championship at the quarterfinal stage for the second straight year.
Adam Jecho scored the winner on a power play with 39.4 seconds left in regulation as the tournament hosts fell 4-3 to Czechia on Thursday.
Tanner Howe, Porter Martone and Bradly Nadeau replied for Canada, which failed to play for a medal at back-to-back world juniors for the first time since the country instituted its program of excellence in the early 1980s.
Carter George stopped 22 shots. Brayden Yager had two assists for the Canadians, who never really found their stride in the nation’s capital.
The Czechs will face the United States in Saturday’s semifinals. Sweden is set to meet Finland for the other berth in Sunday’s title game.

Sweden jumped out to a 3-0 lead before hanging on for a 3-2 victory over Latvia to move onto the semifinals. James Hagens and Ryan Leonard each scored twice as the U.S. routed Switzerland 7-2. Finland topped Slovakia 5-3. Germany beat Kazakhstan 4-3 in the relegation game to secure its spot at the 2026 world juniors in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.

CEO of Hockey Canada is Katherine Henderson who was previously running Curling Canada. Hockey is not curling. Yea everyone seems to forget the Feds trampling Hockey Canada a few years back to get their own people in place. Until Hockey takes back Hockey canada, Nothing is going to get any better
They did it by design under the guise of “toxic masculinity” – well sorry. Boys in 2025 no longer have to be ashamed or feel bad about the testosterone in their bodies and the energy they bring. We’ve taken our eye off the ball in so many areas in our country and it becomes obvious in areas where there’s an obvious winner or loser. No hiding when the score is on the wall. We are the biggest laughing stock of hockey today. Embarrassing is putting it very mildly. Hockey and most sports is nothing but political, and it came to the forefront in this shite show. Top guy had two goals in the entire tournament. Most years he can get two in one period. Shows the well below lack of talent this team had.
