DAY 2 AT WESTERN CANADA CUP COMPLETE

In Sunday’s early game at the Western Canada Cup regional Junior A tournament at Estevan’s Affinity Place, the AJHL-champion Brooks Bandits down the BCHL-champion West Kelowna Warriors 4-2 in a scrappy affair.

In the evening game, the MJHL-champion Portage Terriers held on for a 3-2 victory over the host Estevan Bruins.

The standings through the opening two days look like this:

1. Portage 2-0
2. Brooks 1-0
3. West Kelowna 1-1
4. Melfort 0-1
5. Estevan 0-2

There is only one game on Monday and it has the Melfort Mustangs taking on the Brooks Bandits at 7:00 pm at Affinity Place.  You can watch all the action at www.fasthockey.com.

The Western Canada Cup brings together the five top teams in all of Western Canada’s Junior A loop with two berths on the line for the Royal Bank Cup in Lloydminster.
