OVERVIEW
It was back to a full two-a-day practice for the Riders on day 6 of training camp. The two hour morning practice was conducted under blue skies as the players continued to gain momentum and elevate their level of play.
The players were in full pads for the one hour and forty-five minute hot and humid afternoon practice. The highly intense final session of the day ended just as a thunder storm approached from the south.
RIDERS ADD RUNNING BACK
The team announced the addition of international running back Sam Ojuri (6’0 – 202) to the roster. The 24-year-old North Dakota State product played one game for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last season as a rookie, collecting 13 yards on four carries.
PLAY OF THE DAY
During the afternoon teams period, third year quarterback Tino Sunseri found rookie receiver Greg Hardin in the back corner of the end zone. In tight coverage, Hardin leapt back over the defender to secure the major.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“We got some guys that are just impressive as rookies that the way they look, the way they use their hands. I won’t tell them that yet because they need to keep working and keep getting better. Right now potential is a word that I like, even though no one ever reaches their full potential, right now the potential of what we can do on the d-line with our vets and the new players we have across the board is nice and we have a good group.”
