DERKATCH SCORES WINNER, RAIDERS BEAT PATS 3-2
Regina, Sask. — The Regina Pats gave up a 2-0 lead in their first preseason home game on Saturday, falling 3-2 to the Prince Albert Raiders.
Dayce Derkatch, the son of Pats legend Dale Derkatch, scored the game-winning-goal with 1:37 remaining in the third period. Connor Bedard scored twice in the opening five minutes to give the Pats a 2-0 lead, with both goals assisted by Easton Armstrong.
In the second period, Trevor Thurston’s slapshot found the back of the net through traffic to bring the Raiders within one. In the third, Eric Johnston would sneak off the near post and in, to tie it up with just over five minutes to play.
The Pats fall to 1-1 on the pre-season while the Raiders improve to 2-1.
