The most ridiculous thing to come out of a zany Week 1 in the NFL was Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill being handcuffed and detained prior Miami’s Sunday game at Hard Rock Stadium.

Yes, you heard that right.

I was barely awake Sunday morning when the news flashed across the TV ticker that Hill had been arrested outside the stadium.

At first I wondered what my reaction would be if I wasn’t so jaded. Literally nothing surprises me anymore, especially when it comes to the receiver who calls himself “Cheetah”.

Last year half his Miami mansion burned down thanks to one of his six kids playing with matches. Earlier in the season his personal videographer was kicked out of the NFL because … God only knows why.

The most surreal thing for me was that I was just at the stadium less than 12 hours before, attending a college game.

As it turns out, it sounds like, Hill was ticketed for speeding and reckless driving around the stadium. (Sounds reasonable enough). But 50,000 people got in an out of the college game with no problem. 70,000 would do the same for the Dolphins game.

And Tyreek’s the only one who couldn’t come and go without incident?

Apparently the arresting officer has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. Hill didn’t seem fazed by the incident at all. In fact after his 80 yard touchdown in Sunday’s game, his celebration included posing with his hands behind his back like he was wearing handcuffs.

Because, of course it did.

The cop may be in trouble for not knowing how Tyreek Hill is, but that wouldn’t surprise me either.

In 2007, Eric Tillman wasn’t allowed in Taylor Field because security didn’t recognize the Roughriders GM. I would know, because I was with him.

Raiders great Marcus Allen wasn’t allowed to park his rental car at Super Bowl XVIII because he didn’t have the proper pass. So he left it at the front entrance of the stadium in Tampa Bay.

He told me that as far as he knows, it’s still there.

You can say what you want about sports, but you can’t say it’s ever boring.

That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.

Uh huh

Cue the immediate outrage.

He will be compared to George “Help I was passing counterfeit money and whacked out on fentynyl and can’t breath as I talk about it for 9 minutes” Floyd.

Tomorrow Woke Disney thru their money losing subsidiary ESPN will talk about this all day.

Stephen A the floor is yours.
