BLEDSOE TO SPEAK AT BC LIONS DINNER
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced on Tuesday that former NFL quarterback Drew Bledsoe will be the keynote speaker at the 2019 Orange Helmet Awards presented by Coast Capital Savings on Thursday, April 25 at the Westin Bayshore.
The four-time Pro Bowl selection and former Super Bowl champion enjoyed 14 years as a pro, most notably with the New England Patriots where he was the first player selected in the 1993 NFL Draft. Eventually seeing action with
the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys, the Washington State grad retired in 2007 ranked seventh all-time in passing yards (44,611).
“Drew has some amazing stories to tell and his unique experience as one of the game’s greatest quarterbacks will create another night to remember for the Orange Helmet Awards,” said Jamie Taras, the club’s director of community relations.
Celebrating its 16th year and having raised more than $900,000 the Orange Helmet Awards is a marquee event on the BC Lions calendar. Proceeds from the night support amateur football in the province of British Columbia and honour champions at all levels from last season.
Created by late Lions president and CEO Bob Ackles, the OHA’s also recognize pioneers of the sport in our province, outstanding coaches and those who have spent years in support of grassroots football development.
