DUB ROUND-UP: BEDARD NOTCHES FIVE AGAINST OIL KINGS

Edmonton, Alta. — The Regina Pats attack was on full display on Sunday afternoon as they closed out their trip out west with a convincing 8-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings at Rogers Place. During their six-game quest, the Queen City Kids went an impressive 5-1-0-0.

Easton Armstrong scored his first career hat-trick (ninth, 10th, 11th) to help lead the visitors to victory. Borya Valis sniped twice in the contest while Connor Bedard scored his 27th and tied his career high with five points (1G-4A). Tanner Howe scored his 18th and added three assists, and Alexander Suzdalev (16th) also scored for the Pats. Valis and Suzdalev also added an assist. Drew Sim was solid when called upon and kicked out 23 of 25 shots directed his way.

 

 

ROCKETS 5 SILVERTIPS 2

EVERETT, Wash. – Colton Dach and Gabriel Szturc each scored two goals as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Everett Silvertips 5-2 on Sunday.

It is the second time Kelowna has topped Everett since Nov. 25, with the Rockets winning the previous matchup 4-2 on the road as well.

Max Graham added the other goal for Kelowna (10-12-2). Jari Kykkanen made 44 saves.

Ben Hemmerling and Ryan Hofer replied for Everett (14-10-1). Braden Holt stopped 23-of-27 shots.

HITMEN 5 WARRIORS 3

CALGARY – Carter Yakemchuk scored the winning goal and insurance marker as Calgary (13-7-3-1) came on late to defeat Moose Jaw (18-10-0). Tied at 3-3 entering the third, Yakemchuk netted the winner at 7:55 of the frame and the second at 10:08, both on the power play.

COUGARS 6 GIANTS 3

LANGLEY, B.C. – Caden Brown notched two goals and one assist as Prince George (13-11-0) cruised past Vancouver (10-11-3-2). The Giants jumped out to a 3-1 lead at 13:31 of the second period before the Cougars mounted a comeback.
