BLADES 6 OIL KINGS 3


SASKATOON – Gary Haden scored four goals and set up one more as the Saskatook Blades doubled up the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-3 on Tuesday to stretch their Western Hockey League win streak to four games.

Chase Wouters had a goal and an assist for Saskatoon (20-10-3) and Seth Bafaro also scored. Josh Paterson chipped in with two helpers.

Brett Kemp, Liam Keeler and Matthew Robertson scored for the Oil Kings (16-12-5).

Blades goaltender Nolan Maier stopped 22 shots. Edmonton’s Todd Scott made 23 saves.

Saskatook was 1 for 4 on the power play while the Oil Kings scored once on three chances with the man advantage.




ROCKETS 3 ICE 1


CRANBROOK, B.C. – Leif Mattson scored twice as Kelowna handed the Ice their 12th straight loss.

Kyle Topping supplied the rest of the offence for the Rockets (15-15-2) with a goal and an assist.

Cole Muir had the lone goal for Kootenay (7-21-6).




REBELS 2 BLAZERS 1


RED DEER, Alta. – Alex Morozoff’s goal late in the second period stood as the winner as the Rebels held off Kamloops.

Reese Johnson also scored for Red Deer (20-9-2).

Brodi Stuart brought the Blazers (12-13-3) within one with his goal midway through the thid.




THUNDERBIRDS 6 COUGARS 5


KENT, Wash. – Nolan Volcan scored three goals and set up one more to lead the Thunderbirds over Price George.

Zack Andrusiak had two goals and three assists and Jarret Tyszka supplied the rest of the offence for Seattle (11-14-3).

Vladislav Mikhalchuk had two goals and a helper to lead the Cougars (11-17-3). Jackson Leppard, Matej Toman and Josh Maser also scored.




ROYALS 7 WINTERHAWKS 4


VICTORIA – Tarun Fizer scored a hat trick and Dante Hannoun had two goals and two assists as the Royals overpowered Portland.

Brandon Cutler and Ralph Jarratt also scored and Scott Walford had four assists for Victoria (14-12-1).

Cross Hanas led the Winterhawks (18-11-2) with two goals. Joachim Blichfield and Mason Mannek had the others.
