REGINA – Carter Stebbings had a pair of goals as the Swift Current Broncos downed the Prince Albert Raiders 5-2 on Monday for their first win of the Western Hockey League season.

Reid Dyck stopped 28-of-30 shots to help Swift Current halt its five-game losing streak to open the campaign.

Raphael Pelletier, Caleb Wyrostok and Devin Aubin also scored for the Broncos (1-5-0). Cole Nagy and Matthew Ward each tacked on two assists.

Ozzy Wieslblatt and Justin Nackbaur supplied the goals for the Raiders (2-2-2), who are on a three-game slide.

Max Paddock turned away 23-of-28 shots for Prince Albert.

REGINA – Kyle Crnkovic had two goals and an assist, and Saskatoon (5-0-1) used a four-goal first period to beat Brandon (3-2-1) and extend its point streak to six games to open the season.

Tuesday in the Dubble, the Regina Pats face the Winnipeg ICE at 8:00 pm on AccessNow TV.

The Western Hockey League announced Monday that Brandon Wheat Kings forward Nolan Ritchie has been named WHL Player of the Week presented by Journie Rewards for the week ending March 21, 2021. 
 
Ritchie, 18, recorded seven points (3G-4A) in three games this past week, as the Wheat Kings went 2-1-0-0 in the WHL’s Subway Hub Centre in Regina.
 
A second-year forward, Ritchie was originally selected by the Wheat Kings in the third round (56th overall) of the 2017 WHL Draft. In 33 career WHL regular season games, he has collected 20 points (9G-11A).
 
Ritchie and the Wheat Kings return to action in the WHL’s Subway Hub Centre on Monday night (8 p.m. MT) when they host the Saskatoon Blades. 
 
The Western Hockey League also announced that Everett Silvertips goaltender Dustin Wolf has been named WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 21, 2021. 
 
Wolf, 19, was back up to his old tricks, recording two shutout victories, as the WHL’s U.S. Division returned to play this weekend. Wolf and the Silvertips went 2-0-0-0 with no goals against to start the season. The prospect of the Calgary Flames turned aside all 40 shots sent his way over the weekend.
