CRANBROOK, B.C. – Jake Leschyshyn scored a hat trick and added two helpers as Lethbridge doubled up Kootenay.
Dylan Cozens had a pair of goals, while Nick Henry, Danila Palivko and Calen Addison added singles for the Hurricanes (19-10-6). Brad Ginnell, Jaeger White, Cole Muir and Jakin Smallwood answered for the Ice (8-24-6).
Bryan Thomson turned aside 33 shots for Lethbridge. Jesse Makaj combined with Duncan McGovern for 23 saves for Kootenay.
Kootenay’s Brad Ginnell received a game misconduct for checking to the head at 18:44 of the second period.

WINTERHAWKS 8 THUNDERBIRDS 6
SEATTLE – Joachim Blichfeld had a goal and three assists as Portland survived a wild game for a win over Seattle.
Lane Gilliss and Ryan Hughes had two goals apiece, while Seth Jarvis, Jake Gricius and Clay Hanus added singles for the Winterhawks (20-11-5). Zack Andrusiak found the back of the net four times, while Noah Philp and Nolan Volcan rounded out the scoring for the Thunderbirds (11-18-4).
Shane Farkas kicked out 30 shots for Portland. Liam Hughes stopped 32 shots for Seattle.
The Winterhawks’ Matthew Quigley was given a match penalty for kneeing at 3:30 of the second period.

RED DEER, Alta. – Cameron Hausinger scored the lone goal in the shootout as Red Deer edged Edmonton.
Jeff de Wit scored in regulation for the Rebels (21-11-2). Conner McDonald scored for the Oil Kings (19-12-7).
Ethan Anders turned aside 38 shots for Red Deer. Dylan Myskiw kicked out 29 shots for Edmonton.

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. – James Hamblin scored twice as Medicine Hat doubled up Victoria for a second straight win.
Ryan Chyzowski and Ryan Jevne also scored for the Tigers (19-15-3). Ty Yoder scored both goals for the Royals (17-14-1).
Garin Bjorklund turned aside 21 shots for Medicine Hat. Griffen Outhouse stopped 26 shots for Victoria.

KELOWNA, B.C. – Roman Basran kicked out 33 shots and Kyle Topping scored the game-winning goal at 10:08 of the third period as Kelowna defeated Kamloops.
Nolan Foote also scored for the Rockets (17-17-3). Luke Zazula replied for the Blazers (13-17-3).
Dylan Ferguson kicked out 31 shots for Kamloops.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Jake McGrew scored with three seconds left in the third period as Spokane snuck out a win over Tri-City.
Luke Toporowski also netted a goal for the Chiefs (20-12-4). Dom Schmiemann provided the offence for the Americans (18-13-2).
Bailey Brkin turned away 18 shots for Spokane. Beck Warm kicked out 33 shots for Tri-City.
Tri-City’s Riley Sawchuk received a game misconduct at 17:08 of the third period.

SILVERTIPS 6 COUGARS 1
EVERETT, Wash. – Martin Fasko-Rudas scored twice as the Everett Silvertips extended their point streak to 16 games with a 6-1 victory over the Prince George Cougars in Western Hockey League action Saturday.
Jackson Berezowski also had two goals, while Bryce Kindopp and Riley Sutter had singles for the Silvertips (29-7-2), who are on a 14-0-2 run.
Ryan Schoettler scored the lone goal for the Cougars (12-20-3).
Max Palaga turned away 24 shots for Everett. Isaiah DiLaura kicked out 30 shots for Prince George.
Both teams went 1 for 5 on the power play.
Everett’s Dawson Butt received a game misconduct at 10:22 of the third period.
