DURANT SPEAKS WITH THE MEDIA

Kerry Joseph took most of the first team reps in Wednesday’s Roughrider practice at Mosaic Stadium but Darian Durant got some work in as well with the #1’s.  Earlier in the day Durant was moved from the 6-game Injured List to the Riders’ active roster.  Here are some of his quotes:

HOW DID IT FEEL?

DD:  It felt pretty good.  It just felt good to get back out there and run around with the boys.  It’s a lot of the little things you miss about being out there so it felt good.  The arm feels good.  We’re right on track as far as the rehab goes and there’s a positive outlook on things but we’re still taking it day-by-day and being cautious.

HOW CONFIDENT ARE YOU IN YOUR ARM?

DD:  I worry about banging it on John Chick’s helmet because he’s a maniac when it comes to rushing the passer.  I was a little nervous the first couple of days but it’s coming around and feeling better.  I’m pretty close to feeling myself.  The spiral is there and I can throw with authority.  It’s good to know everything was put back together properly and we’re taking the proper steps to getting it back to normal.

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT THE INJURY LONG-TERM?

DD:  Yah.  That’s tough. That’s the tough part about it, especially knowing the type of season we were having at the time and not being able to be out with the boys.  That was tough, especially at this point of my career.  But we have great doctors, a great training staff and coaches who understand a lot about injuries and they’re doing everything right.

COULD YOU PLAY IN THE PLAYOFFS?

DD:  I don’t want to answer that now because who knows?  Just like any other injury, you have good days and you have bad days.  I think we’ll just wait and see how it goes.  We’ll wait until next week and so where it goes.

Just let him make his own decisions and keep all the crap off of here. He knows better than anyone, and I am sure when he decides he will want to be in perfect condition or it could be career ending. Good Luck Darian and Good Thinking !

Let's support this young man and what's best for him and his long term health. Only Durant, the coaches and the doctors know what's best for him. If he's not under centre the rest of the season, we support whomever is in there. It's not good if us fans are putting pressure on Durant to play. We need him long term if we're going to even make the playoffs next year.

The last 2 comments are brilliantly written. Perhaps you could write a motivational book or something.
