ESKIMOS 10 REBLACKS 8
OTTAWA (CP) – A 27-yard field goal by Grant Shaw with 20 seconds remaining in the game gave the Edmonton Eskimos a 10-8 win over the Ottawa Redblacks Friday night.
The Eskimos drove from their own nine-yard line after recovering a fumble as the Redblacks were looking to get some insurance points late in the fourth quarter.
A Hail Mary pass on the final play of the game was batted down by the Edmonton defence to give the Eskimos (6-1) their second win in a row.
The Redblacks (1-6), who got two field goals and two singles from kicker Brett Maher, led from the opening drive of the game but still saw their losing slide hit four games.
Maher collected all his points in the first half as the Redblacks defence put in their best performance of the year in not allowing an Edmonton touchdown.
There were several key plays in the second half, including an interception, fumble and turnover on downs by the Eskimos, but none was bigger than the Redblacks first turnover of the game.

The only exciting part of that game is when the crowd was so loud that you could not hear Rod Black and Dwayne Ford with their play by play comments.
Man even if they could afford to pay double, the REDBLACKS couldn't buy a victory. For the EE to leave Ottawa with 2 points is sickening. What is with Henry Burris and his offence not being able to score an offensive TD in that park. Yes, yes they scored 14 points against SK. One on special teams and the other in garbage time. I truly wonder how long the Ottawa fan will wait for a competitive team. It's not like they haven't bailed twice before. I honestly think that Ottawa's front office not only disrespected Kevin Glen this past spring.… Read more »
Stupid Redblacks….couldn't help a brother out last night. At least the stadium looks good.
another dismal football game
Not much one can say other than that was Ottawa's game to win. I'm sure they are pretty disappointed.
Worst. Game. Ever.
This was a tragic loss for Ottawa. They can't drop passes like that. Edmonton gave them this game, but I think Ottawa gave the fans hope.
Side note it's nice to see Stephen Harper at games.

If you like defensive games with lots of weird twists, then it was a good game. I liked it, and I was rooting for Ottawa, they were in it until the end. Suggestion for Ottawa, aquire a receiver that can hang onto the ball and they might actually win a game. One thing a little weird with Ottawa's playcalling was that, similar to Saskatchwan they would set themselves up with a gain of 5 or 6 yards on first down, but then for some reason Burris would then always fire the ball deep instead of simply going short for the… Read more »
For the 35% of Canadians that voted for the Conservatives and Harper in the last Fed election, they might want to see Harper at a game.
Due that figure has dropped to now 25%, and Harper will be ousted after the next fed election, who cares to see that guys face at a CFL game.
Put another way, 75% of Canadians do not want him as our PM.

Long live the CFL…

Burris was almost as bad as the receivers. Overthrew a lot of passes then when questioned about the drops at half time he chose to keep the focus on the receivers rather than be a leader and say yeah we've had some drops… but I've misfired a lot too. It's becoming more and more evident that the Red Blacks would have been better off with Glen. Burris is not a leader. And he looks long in the tooth this year. Not escaping like he used to buying time and has no touch throwing the ball this year.
good thing i missed that snooze fest 10-8 sounds like a boring NFL game
