ESTEVAN’S BRAYDEN PACHAL GETS NEW DEAL WITH GOLDEN KNIGHTS
VEGAS – The Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, June 28, that the team has signed defenseman Brayden Pachal to a two-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $775,000.
Pachal, a native of Saskatchewan, appeared in 10 NHL games with Vegas during the 2022-23 regular season and recorded his first-career point, an assist, on December 15 at Chicago. The defenseman made his postseason debut against Winnipeg when the Golden Knights eliminated the Jets, 4-1, to advance to the second round.
Pachal, serving as captain of the AHL’s Silver Knights since January of 2022, represented Henderson at the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic in Laval, Quebec. The 23-year-old has appeared in 192 AHL contests during his career. Pachal originally joined the Golden Knights as an undrafted free agent, signing an entry-level contract on September 20, 2019, and then a one-year extension on July 28, 2022.
Prior to his professional career, Pachal played four seasons in the WHL. He served as the captain of the Prince Albert Raiders in 2018-19, leading the team to a WHL Championship and leading the league with a plus-76 rating.
