FOOTBALL FRIDAY RUNDOWN: DUNK & BAKES TAKES!

Fridays are reserved for the gridiron on The RP Show and we tackled all the latest news on Episode #756 of your favourite Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk Show! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont got it going with The Warmup discussing these Quick Six show topics: 1) Thursday NHL leftovers, 2) The NFL’s schedule release and the league’s ability to create major calendar events, 3) Dallas’s Mayor says his city can support two NFL teams, 4) The Blue Jays visit the Rays on Friday night, 5) Junior hockey playoffs weekend preview, and 6) NBA playoffs.
• 3DownNation CFL Insider Justin Dunk joined the show in Hour 1 to discuss the CFL CBA talks and reported that not much progress has been made since the two sides reconvened on Wednesday. He strongly hinted that a strike is looming, saying the players are in a stronger position than ever before to walkout. Justin also recapped CFL rookie camps this week, and admitted to being a Buffalo Bills fan, and examined their schedule.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which happens first – The NHL expands to Saskatoon or The NFL expands to Toronto? At press time, 65% of respondents voted for Saskatoon.
• In Hour 2 we were joined by BC Lions digital reporter Matt Baker live from Lions rookie camp in Kamloops, BC. Matt discussed the absence of QB Michael Reilly from camp following his off-season retirement, and the void it created. He also discussed Year 2 of the Rick Campbell regime and the outlook for the Lions in 2022. Bakes also promoted all the great content at BCLions.com, including their behind-the-scenes documentary entitled Arrow Up. As a complete aside, Rod asked why the NBA’s Vancouver Grizzlies failed and Baker pointed to the lack of local ownership.
• Thursday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Darren Dreger. Friday’s was Matt Baker.
