FOOTBALL FRIDAY RUNDOWN: JABARI ARTHUR, NFL/CFL CHAT & MORE!

Fridays are reserved for the gridiron The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – and we had a lot of fun on our last day at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino! Read on for the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont got it going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Thursday NHL leftovers, 2) Top NFL receiver Devonte Adams is traded to Las Vegas (Did Aaron Rodgers suck up all the money in Green Bay?), 3) QB Baker Mayfield demands a trade out of Cleveland as the Browns pursue Deshaun Watson, 4) In a St. Patrick’s Day NLL clash at the Saddledome, the Calgary Roughnecks downed the Saskatchewan Rush 14-12, 5) Randy’s Road Trip notes from the CFL Commissioner’s stop in Regina, and 6A) MLB happenings, 6B) PGA, 6C) The Raptors host the Lakers Friday night.
• Former Kansas City Chief & Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Jabari Arthur dropped by the Stage Bar at Grey Eagle for an extended chat about all things football. Jabari’s the current offensive coordinator with the UofC Dinos, winning a Vanier Cup in 2019, and that’s where the chat began. Arthur talked about his two Grey Cup wins with Calgary and how John Hufnagel lured him west after his stint in KC. The 6’4″ Montreal product also told Chiefs stories including time spent with Tony Gonzalez and Herman Edwards. We truly covered it all including the 4-down idea in the CFL (he’s against it) and the Philpot twins of the Dinos projected to go in the Top 5 of this spring’s CFL Draft.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which QB would you take – Baker Mayfield, Matt Ryan or Deshaun Watson? At press time, Deshaun Watson was leading.
• In Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer we were joined by Sportsnet NFL Fantasy Insider Andy McNamara. He also hosts Canada’s #1 Cleveland Browns podcast so he went deep into the Mayfield drama, examined the tough AFC West, the Aaron Rodgers contract, and answered tons of viewer questions.
• We were also joined by comediennes Kristin Hedley & Jen Smedley of the I MOM SO HARD touring comedy show which is coming to Grey Eagle on April 2. They talked about their books and podcast, the origin of the tour, and previewed their show.
• Thursday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Gino De Paoli. Friday’s was Jabari Arthur.
