IMG_4001

As it turns out, Friday’s Episode #704 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports Talk – turned out to be one of our best shows yet! Read on for the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked it off with the Warmup from the Grey Eagle Event Centre covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Russia declares war on Ukraine, and its impact on the sporting world, 2) Thursday NHL one-timers, 3) CFL News, 4) The Canadian Football Hall of Fame will induct the 2020 and 2021 induction classes in June in Hamilton, 5) Reviled college coach Art Briles is back in football, as O.C. at Grambling State under Hue Jackson, and 6) A weekend sports lookahead.
  • A special treat was Canadian mens bobsleigh pilot Justin Kripps dropping by Grey Eagle to discuss Canada’s bronze medal performance in 4-Man Bobsleigh in Beijing, and his gold medal win at the South Korea games. Kripps was an outstanding interview and covered the entire Beijing experience, training during Covid, his upcoming wedding and much more. The 35-year old answered tons of questions from viewers and said his future is uncertain at this time.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Should Russia be banned from world sporting events? At press time, 89% of respondents said yes.
  • Another real treat for us came in Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer as Rod’s favourite all-time Roughrider Jeff Fairholm dropped by Grey Eagle. The Montreal product discussed his six seasons in Saskatchewan (1988-1993), various records he holds, the state of the CFL and upstart spring football leagues and much more. Fairholm won a Grey Cup in 1989 with Saskatchewan and in 1996 with Toronto however he said his career ended halfway through that season due to a back injury. He and Rod told the story of Jeff speaking at Milestone High School in 1988 and that’s when Rod became a hardcore Rider fan. Fairholm said he loved the communities precisely for stories like that. The popular slotback also answered plenty of viewer questions. Jeff is currently sales manager for an office furniture supply company.
  • Thursday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Kansas City Chiefs D-lineman Jonathan Woodard. Friday’s was Justin Kripps.
  • Friday’s show is available for viewing now on our YouTube Channel or you can listen to the podcast wherever you enjoy your podcasts.
  • Be sure to tune into Access Now TV’s RP Show Best of the Week on Saturday and Sunday at 12 pm Sask Time. Guests include former Rider Sheldon Napastuk, the Voice of the Stampeders Mark Stephen, Saskatchewan Rush forward Dan Lintner, Jonathan Woodard and more!

Should russia be banned from world sporting events?????
Give your collective heads a shake, they should be banned, excluded, evicted, erased, deleted etc. from any type of sporting, social, political events everywhere, (except china as i am sure Justin Trudeau’s great respect for that country “trumps” that).
