FOOTBALL FRIDAY RUNDOWN: REINEBOLD, GURLEY, HARRIS AND MORE!

Fridays are for football and we tackled all the latest goings-on on Episode #927 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports Talk – on Game+ TV, YouTube Live and WQEE Radio! Here’s the rundown:

• Moose was unavailable for Hour 1 so RP opened with The Warmup, discussing Friday being his 8-year anniversary in Recovery and the road to get there. Then we dipped into these Quick Six show topics: 1) Thursday’s NHL leftovers including the growing discord in Calgary with the Flames’ 5-1 home loss to Chicago, 2) The Dallas Cowboys fire six assistant coaches, 3) NFL Conference Championship preview – NFC San Francisco at Philadelphia (-2.5) and Cincinnati (-1.5) at Kansas City, 4) CFL buzz including Bo Levi Mitchell divulging why he won’t sign with Saskatchewan, 5) The Raptors visit Golden State Friday night in the NBA, and 6) Dub Hub and other randoms.
• Packers, Browns & Argos alum Tori Gurley joined the show to talk all things NFL including previews of the conference championships. Tori feels Cincinnati will win the Super Bowl! He answered several viewer comments including the fact the Dallas Cowboys have to commit to QB Dak Prescott due to all the money they’re paying him!
• Montreal Alouettes QB and 2-time Grey Cup champion Trevor Harris joined the show from Ohio to discuss his off-season and career. Trevor has long favoured Tom Brady’s TB12 training regimen and explained why it lengthens quarterbacks’ careers, including Tom’s! Harris spent 2010 with the Jacksonville Jaguars and discussed Nathan Rourke’s signing with the Jags. Trevor said they’re close friends and that cheering on someone else’s success won’t hinder yours! It was a fun chat.
• Moose returned to co-host the show in Hour 2 and the guys made their NFL picks and discussed more on the Bo Levi Mitchell situation. RP explained that Bo’s reasons for not signing with the Riders were all the things Rod outlined on the show during Grey Cup Week! Several CFL fans chimed in.
• Sky Sports NFL analyst and famed CFL coach Jeff Reinebold joined the show from London, England and previewed this weekend’s NFL match-ups. He also explained why rookie QB Brock Purdy has had so much success with the 49ers (winning all seven of his starts), and much more.
• Thursday’s Rockstar of the Day was Bryn Griffiths. Friday’s was Trevor Harris!
