FORMER RIDER COACH HELPING OUT STAMPS
The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce that John Gregory and Robert McCune will be serving as guest coaches at this year’s training camp.
Gregory has more than four decades of coaching experience including 12 years in the Canadian Football League. He was an offensive line coach for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1983-86 and the head coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1987-91 and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 1991-94.
He was the winner of the Annis Stukus Trophy as the CFL coach of the year in 1989 as he led Saskatchewan to a Grey Cup championship. Gregory has also coached at the collegiate level and in the Arena Football League.
McCune was a hard-hitting linebacker for four CFL seasons including two with Calgary (2010-11). He played with the Toronto Argonauts in 2012 and 2013. Over his CFL career, he accumulated 275 tackles, 12 sacks, three interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
He played for Washington and Baltimore in the National Football League and was an all-conference performer at the University of Louisville.
Rookie camp begins Thursday at McMahon Stadium with practices at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
