FRIDAY CAT COUNTRY COMMENTARY – LIGHTNING WILL WIN THE CUP

(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary on Cat Country 98 FM)

TODAY … THREE THOUGHTS IN 60 SECONDS … LET’S GO –

NUMBER ONE: THE TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING WILL WIN THE STANLEY CUP.

THEY VANQUISHED THE NEW YORK ISLANDERS IN A 6-GAME EASTERN FINAL AND WILL NOW LINE UP AGAINST DALLAS FOR THE STANLEY CUP BEGINNING SATURDAY.

MY HOT TAKE – THE LIGHTNING HAVE BEEN KNOCKING ON THE DOOR FOR TOO LONG. THEY’VE FLIRTED WITH THE CUP SINCE FIRST APPEARING IN THE FINALS IN 2015 AND HAVE BEEN AROUND IT SINCE.

NOW IS THEIR TIME. MY ONLY WORRY IS THAT THEY’RE TOO BEAT UP BECAUSE THE STARS SEEM RESTED.

NUMBER TWO: JUNIOR HOCKEY IS ROLLING IN MANITOBA AND QUEBEC. NEWS CAME OUT THURSDAY THAT SOME STARS FROM THE WHL’S WINNIPEG ICE WILL BE PLAYING WITH MANITOBA JUNIOR A TEAMS UNTIL THE DUB GETS GOING.

AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE’S BEEN NO TALK OF THE FIVE WHL TEAMS IN SASK RELEASING THEIR PLAYERS TO THE SJHL BECAUSE WE STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE S-J WILL PLAY.

STAY TUNED.

AND NUMBER THREE: IN MY MIND I’VE FULLY MOVED ON TO THE NFL AND ENJOYED THURSDAY NIGHT’S BATTLE OF OHIO WHERE THE BROWNS DUMPED THE BENGALS 35-20.

THEN WE GOT WORD CFL OWNERS ARE SAYING THERE’S A WAY TO PLAY AND MAKE MONEY EVEN WITHOUT FANS IN THE STANDS IN 2021.

TO THAT I SAY ‘GOOD LUCK’, AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR.

THAT’S TODAY’S ROD PEDERSEN COMMENTARY ON CAT COUNTRY 98.
