A coupla three or more thoughts entering the weekend …

#1 – It feels like the whole world was watching Thursday night’s NFL season opener where the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-20 to kick the whole thing off.

More than the game itself, people are talking about Eagles D-lineman Jalen Carter being kicked out for spitting on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in the game’s opening minute.

Once order was restored, the next topic is Dallas receiver CeeDee Lamb’s three drops in the second half which didn’t cost the Cowboys the game, but certainly didn’t help them win either.

Hey – the Cowboys went toe-to-toe with the Super Bowl champs. Onto the Giants.

#2 – Week 14 in the CFL kicks off Friday night with BC at Ottawa but who’s kidding who — the Game of the Week is the Banjo Bowl which is the middle game of a Saturday tripleheader. I prefer to call it, “Football Day In Canada”.

Saskatchewan at Winnipeg in the rematch of the Labour Day Classic, which the Riders won 34-30. In this one, Winnipeg is favored by 1-point and I’ll take the bet.

The Bombers aren’t what they used to be – that’s clear – but that’s now the toughest place to play in the CFL.

Should be a great Saturday of football.

And #3 – Will there be fighting over the remote control in your house? The Blue Jays open a weekend series at the New York Yankees Friday night and it feels like the whole nation has gone bonkers with Blue Jays Fever.

Toronto’s three games up on the Yankees for the AL East lead and have had the Pinstripes’ number all season including a 4-game sweep at Rogers Centre before the All Star Game. This weekend should go a long ways to deciding who claims the pennant.

I won’t profess to be a baseball afficiniado but former Blue Jays catcher and TV analyst Gregg Zaun is and he told the RP Show this week that the Jays have what it takes to go all the way. All it’s going to take is for skipper John Schneider to manage it right.

No pressure.

Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Carter should be banned from the NFL for a minimum 6 months, he’s a disgrace to sports.
