Friday Commentary: Win-Win

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)

A coupla three or more thoughts entering the weekend …

#1 – Just one more sleep until the start of the Stanley Cup Final. (Well, three for me including likely two naps). It’s Media Day today for the Oilers and Panthers in Sunrise and the two teams will meet Saturday night in Game 1 at 8:00 ET.

For me it’s win-win; I’d be happy to see either team win.

But my prediction is Panthers in 6.

#2 – Hey you’ve gotta admit it’s been a heckuva kickoff week for the CFL! The Jonas Brothers were named the Grey Cup halftime act on Monday, Commissioner Randy Ambrosie told us on the RP Show Wednesday that they’ve got the stats issue fixed, and Thursday the League and Bell Media announced CTV will be airing games Saturday afternoons in the Fall, plus Playoffs!

Then the Alouettes went out and upset the Bombers 27-12 in the league opener which has Winnipeg fans writing the season off already!

Rattlers Tickets!

#3 – God bless the fans. Zach Collaros didn’t play in the preseason at all – nor many other Bomber vets – and it showed Thursday night. The early season games are scrambly anyway, but these ones will be even moreso for most teams.

Coaches don’t get their way often in the CFL but they do when it comes to not playing their vets in exhibition games.

For the Bombers, it bit them.

Why did the Alouettes look so efficient in Week 1?

Continuity.

#4 – We’ve looped baseball into this commentary because they’re the ones paying me this summer! Come on out to Moose Jaw Saturday night as the Millers host the Swift Current 57’s as part of a 3-game weekend.

It would be great to see you.
