FRIDAY RUNDOWN: COVERING IT ALL

Fridays are reserved for football and we tackled it all on Episode #1,008 of The RP Show – Daytime Sportstalk – on Game+ TV, WQEE and Streaming! Here’s the rundown:

  • The screenshot above is from a Global Edmonton appearance discussing why Canadians should watch the Stanley Cup Final!
  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked Friday’s show off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The Dallas Stars avoided a sweep with a 3-2 OT win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday. Game 5 is Saturday in Sin City, 2) NBA Playoffs – The Miami Heat fail again to close out Boston in the Eastern Final, 3) Antonio Brown will make his National Arena Football League debut on Saturday for the Albany Empire, 4) We played CFL Pick Em for Bet Regal of this weekend’s preseason games (Rod took Ottawa, Hamilton, Edmonton and Sask while Darren chose Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg and BC), 5) The Memorial Cup opens Friday night! Bet Regal has Kamloops (-0.5) favoured over Quebec City, and 6) The NLL Final begins Saturday with Colorado at Buffalo and there’s an almost-full slate of weekend CEBL games.
  • The daily Key Auto Group poll question was: Will Antonio Brown ever play in the NFL again? At press time over 70% of voters said no.
  • We dabbled in more hockey with an appearance by Dallas Stars TV host Brien Rea, The RP Show regular said the Stars got back to their regular play in Thursday’s win, felt captain Jamie Benn should’ve only been suspended for one game, and said Dallas will need to penetrate Vegas’s net-front in Game 5.
  • RP Show Director of Scouting Craig Smith joined the program in Hour 2, saying he’ll be watching for the best performances from rookies in this weekend’s CFL games. Rod asked what teams are looking for in these games, how much do they play to win, and do some players have the team made no matter how they perform in the preseason?
  • Thursday’s Rockstar of the Day was Bill Lindsay. Friday’s was Craig Smith!
  • If you missed the show you can catch it on our YouTube Channel or wherever you enjoy your podcasts.
  • There will be no show on Memorial Day Monday! Have a great weekend and we’ll see you Tuesday at 12 pm ET on the Streams.
