FRIDAY RUNDOWN: FOOTBALL FRIDAY AND ALL STAR FUN!

It was a throwback show on Friday’s Episode #932 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports Talk – live from The Beach House in Pompano Beach, FL with plenty of live guests on Game+ TV, WQEE and YouTube Live! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont got the show going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) NHL All Star Week ramps up with the Skills Competition Friday night followed by the All Star 3-on-3 tournament on Saturday. What are you most looking forward to?, 2) The NFL Pro Bowl Skills Competition kicked off Thursday night in Las Vegas with QB Derek Carr stealing the show, 3) The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Will Tom Brady stay retired? At press time over 70% of respondents said yes, 4) CFL buzz, 5) In the NBA on Friday the Raptors visit Houston and the Hawks are at Utah, and 6) A preview of the weekend’s NLL and CHL action.
• 13-year NHL veteran and broadcaster Rich Sutter joined the show live at The Beach House and previewed All Star Weekend, recapped Wednesday’s Alumni game, and answered plenty of viewer questions including his thoughts on Connor Bedard, which was his favourite NHL team to play for, and being the spokesman for OFX, the official currency exchange of the NHL.
• In Hour 2 we were joined by former Edmonton Eskimos WR Andrew Nowacki (2004-2011) for a wide-ranging football chat including the NFL, Super Bowl, the CFL off-season and plenty more. Andrew said he likely wouldn’t have participated in a CFL All Star Flag Football Game out of fear of getting hurt, but laughed that he probably wouldn’t have been invited anyway!
• Former CFL agent and scout Mark Gundry joined the show in Pompano Beach to discuss his long relationship with Edmonton Elks GM & Head Coach Chris Jones, Winnipeg Head Coach Mike O’Shea and much more.
• Thursday’s Rockstar of the Day was Matthew Barnaby. Friday’s was Rich Sutter!
