The BC Lions accomplished a rare feat with a dominant 30-6 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The last time a CFL West Division team beat the Blue Bombers at home was the Saskatchewan Roughriders in September 2018. The Lions remain undefeated to start the season at 3-0. BC quarterback Vernon Adams junior completed 20 of 29 pass attempts for 241 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The San Antonio Spurs are looking to end their four-year playoff drought with the addition of Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs selected the French phenom with the top pick in Thursday night’s NBA draft. It marks the third time in San Antonio’s 51-year history that the Spurs have held the Number 1 pick following David Robinson in 1987 and Tim Duncan in 1997.

With the 13th pick in the NBA draft, the Toronto Raptors selected guard Gradey Dick. The 19-year-old from Wichita, Kansas, who played his lone college season at his home state school, wore a sparkly and bedazzled red coat tonight, saying it was his nod to Dorothy from the classic movie Wizard of Oz.

Two Canadians had their names called at this year’s NBA draft. Montreal’s Olivier-Maxence Prosper was drafted 24th overall by the Sacramento Kings and Toronto’s Leonard Miller went 33rd to the San Antonio Spurs. However, Prosper will join the Dallas Mavericks and Miller heads to the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to multiple reports.

Ahmed Hill’s game-winning corner three allowed the Montréal Alliance to escape with an 86-83 victory over Ottawa BlackJacks in a thriller at TD Place on Thursday. Hill paced the Montréal offence with a game-high 32 points that included eight in target score time to stop an Ottawa comeback victory.

Cat Barber’s 34 points and game-winning free throw in target score time launched the Scarborough Shooting Stars (5-4) to their fourth win in a row and a 88-83 victory at home tonight against the Edmonton Stingers (4-4).

Teoscar Hernandez hit one of Seattle’s four early homers and the Mariners blew out the New York Yankees 10-2 to prevent a three-game sweep. Yankees pitcher Domingo German gave up a career-high 10 runs – eight earned – and eight hits. He threw 93 pitches in three-and-a-half innings as his E-R-A soared to 5.10

The major league-leading Tampa Bay Rays lost ace Shane McClanahan to mid-back tightness in a 6-5 loss to the lowly Kansas City Royals. McClanahan was looking to become the majors’ first 12-game winner of the year before leaving with two outs in the fourth. The left-hander, who’s 11-1 this season, gave up two runs, four hits and two walks in a 66-pitch outing.
