GEORGE GOFF INTO BOXING CANADA HALL OF FAME
Regina Boxing Club’s George Goff was unveiled as a 2018 inductee into the Boxing Canada Hall of Fame on Thursday by Boxing Canada at the AutoGallery Subaru media weigh-in event.
Goff will be inducted at the 25th annual Ken Goff Memorial Boxing Classic on Friday, May 4 at the EventPlex at Evraz Place. He is being recognized for a career in amateur boxing that spans 63 years and his exceptional commitment to athletic development, coaching, and administration in the sport.
“I don’t do this for myself, I do it for the kids, but I appreciate the recognition,” said Goff. “My father loved the sport and he passed that down to me.”
Goff’s father, Ken Goff, founded the Regina Boxing Club in 1949 and the KGMBC is a tribute to his lifelong commitment to sport and community.
