GETZLAF STATUS STILL UNDETERMINED
REGINA – Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Corey Chamblin figures Chris Getzlaf is about 75 per cent healthy, but it’s still not clear if the slotback will play in the CFL West Division final against the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday.
Getzlaf was the Riders’ receiving leader this year with 63 catches for 1,047 yards, but suffered a knee injury in the team’s 29-25 loss to Calgary on Oct. 26 and hasn’t played since.
Getzlaf practised with the team on Thursday in Regina.
Chamblin said there are still some things that he wants to see Getzlaf do and Friday’s practice will be more of the telltale sign of his recovery.
Getzlaf told reporters afterwards that he wouldn’t say he’s pain free, but added that he’s OK.
He said he hopes to be able to play Sunday, but that will ultimately be Chamblin’s decision.
“At the end of the day, if the coach ends up putting it on me, then I’m going to play. But I want to do what’s right for the team and if they feel like it’s not ready yet, then it’s not ready yet,” said Getzlaf.

Rod,
unreal job doing POH dinner. Saw it last night om shaw. you definitely are starting to get a Kennedy thing going. Looking good man.
I now have a strictly platonic man crush on eddie davis. i am as straight as can be, but man is that guy fricking cool!
I would rather see Getzlaf healthy in the Grey Cup than not at all. I really believe we will beat Calgary and I really believe that we can do it without Getzlaf. We have to concentrate more on their running game and we know that we have a ton of receivers that can do the job for us. Chris will make the right decision and I'm sure he does not want to play hurt. Go Riders !
If he is healthy and doesn't risk aggravating his injury I say I hope he plays. Getz always has super games against the Stumps. BUT if he is not healthy he should sit until G.C.
