GREY CUP TICKET SALES UPDATE

The Winnipeg Football Club today announced that Investors Group Field is already 70% sold out for the 103rd Grey Cup presented by Shaw, with sales sitting at 25,576 tickets after being made available to the general public for two months.  In addition, premium seating and suites are completely sold out.
“We are encouraged by the ticket count to date and look forward to selling out the rest to our great Blue Bomber and CFL fans in the months to come,” said WFC President and CEO, Wade Miller. “I am especially grateful for the strong and ongoing support of our season ticket members who have already made their purchases.”
After CFL Commissioner Jeffrey L. Orridge recently toured Investors Group Field with members of the Blue Bombers organization, a decision was made to locate the pre-game and halftime shows in the north end of the stadium. This will ensure fans in the stadium have the very best experience, including the opportunity to fully enjoy not only the CFL’s championship game but the world class entertainment that accompanies the game. As a result of this new design, temporary seats will only be in the south end zone.
“Investors Group Field is a best-in-class facility and we wanted to ensure that everyone who buys a ticket to the first-ever Grey Cup there has the best possible fan experience,” Orridge said today.
Installing temporary seats only in the south end of the stadium will up the capacity to 36,634 for the 103rd Grey Cup presented by Shaw.

The WFC has begun its second phase of selling with a focus on the Manitoba business community following a very successful campaign for Grey Cup Festival event tickets.
“We’d also like to remind fans that the WFC has a payment plan available for purchasing individual Grey Cup tickets,” said Miller.  “The ticket price would be divided equally in each of the three months starting September 15, 2015, with no additional service or interest charges for fans wishing to choose this easy pay option.”
As the CFL approaches the mid-season, Miller said fans are starting to see some great football games as every team makes their run towards the 103rd Grey Cup presented by Shaw November 29thin Winnipeg.
Fans interested in purchasing tickets can call the Bomber Ticket office at (204) 784-7448 or visit greycuptickets.ca.

I guess the never ending increase in prices is starting to turn fans away from sporting events…

We have gone to the last 6 Grey Cup games, but will not go to the Winnipeg one. My husband was there in 1992 for the Winnipeg Grey Cup game. He said it was minus 30 at kickoff. Said his "special" drink was frozen and he has never forgotten how cold he was. Plus, the tickets for this year's Grey Cup are the highest they have ever been. Winnipeg must want to pay off their stadium quickly.

So we will pass for the 2015 Grey Cup game.
