PLAYS OF THE DAY
The players strapped the pads back on for the morning session on Day 3. The intensity was high and the collisions were numerous through the two hour session. During the teams period, second year linebacker Brian Peters stepped in front of a pass over the middle and scampered for a significant return before having the play blown down.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Rider defensive back Tyron Brackenridge on the up tempo practices today, “Oh yah we came out intense today. We started out a little slow yesterday, one practice was a little down, but we as a group knew we could pick up the tempo as we go forward in camp. We came out flying.”

FAN ACCESS
Select players will be available to fans for autographs along the west fence line following the afternoon practices throughout the week.  Today the defensive backs walked the fence line and spent time with fans. The receivers are on the schedule for Wednesday.

TOMORROW
Players and coaches will hit the practice field at Griffiths Stadium for Day 4 of training camp with two practice sessions. The first walk through practice will take place at 9:45, while the second will start at approximately 3:00.

Why hasn't the Saskatchewan Gm not released Geroy Simon outright so he can look at his own personal options? Other CFLeague teams may be interested in his playing services this season, that's a very real possibility.

Because he's still Roughrider property and this is pro football and we don't give gifts needlessly.

It's one thing to outright release a player to explore NFL opportunities, it would be stupid to let him go play for a direct opponent.

Gifts ? Roughriders giveaways galore, ie; Dressler, Congi, REDBLACKS draft picks, etc, Grey Cup rings given out needlessly to none players. The men who won that 2013 CFL Championship game have rightfullly earned that honour for their on field play as a team.

That the difference, the mindset of a former football player/current BC Lions Gm Wally Buono who released Geroy Simon last year out of courtesy to explore personal playing options and Saskatchewan Roughriders Gm Taman who is close minded as is their fanbase. Ottawa REDBLACKS and the CFL would only benefit to see a man of Geroy Simon calibre/Integrity in uniform one more season, his valuable knowledge, play making skill sets would only be a positive aquisition/asset to an expansion franchise or otherwise. One more year Geroy !

Wally traded Geroy to Saskatchewan for receiver Justin Harper, he wasn't released. If Geroy asked to be traded to Ottawa (as he asked to be traded to Saskatchewan last year), I'm sure Brendan would orchestrate a deal to make that happen. The truth is, he's ready to be done, and he's going out a Champion.

No that's incorrect, Taman traded Justin Harper along with a draft pick to the BC Lions. Taman Initiated talks with Simon as Mr Wally Buono had basically released Geroy to work out his own deal, Taman was the sucker who signed the aging player out of loyalty dating back to their Blue Bombers days to excessive exorbitant contract. Wally an astute player evaluator at least got a draft pick as Harper was just a throw in just appease the trade gods. Lol
