The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced national free agent defensive back Graig Newman has signed with the team. As per club policy, details of the contract were not released.
Newman (6’1 – 195) will re-join the Green and White after spending the last two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Saskatoon, SK native originally spent two seasons with the Riders after signing with the team in 2012.
Through his first four seasons Newman has collected 36 special teams tackles, 14 defensive tackles and one quarterback sack in 48 regular season games. He has added five special teams tackles in three playoff games.
Newman won his first career Grey Cup with the Riders in 2013.

Go reload on the Canadian side. Special teams should also be in fine form with tackers like Newman, Ainsworth and Knox Jr.

Great, smart-deal choices by the Rider Braintrust. Their signings today provide lots of Canadian depth and some experienced big receivers. Brilliant!

I despise posting negative comments on here and I apologize to everyone except Anon #5. As you are the picture boy for the dictionary word idiot. If you have no use for something then just don't bother. Ignore it, let it go away. Instead of disrespecting a whole league that several Million people enjoy. I wish I could have ignored your comment but it irks those who care about this league to have shmucks like you taking stabs at it. Please leave the Country as hockey and football are as Canadian as Maple Syrup.
