REGINA – The Saskatoon Hilltops looked very much like four-time national champions as they beat up on their provincial rivals the Regina Thunder 41-7 Saturday night at Mosaic Stadium.

With the game tied at 7 late in the first quarter, a 42-yard David Solie FG set Saskatoon on a 34 point run and a week one victory.

Hilltops’ running back Ben Abrook led an impressive ground game finishing with 171-yards on 27 carries and three touchdowns.  Fifth-year pivot Jordan Walls was 20 for 29 for 316 yards and one touchdown while Thunder QB Brock Sich went 13 for 24, 205 yards and one touchdown. Lee Brown of the Thunder led all receivers in the game with 113 yards on 8 receptions.

The Thunder host the Winnipeg Rifles (1-0) Saturday, August 25th, at 4pm at Leibel Field in Regina. The broadcast will be available province-wide on Access 7 and Facebook Live.
